God’s Forgiveness
This past week in bible study we learned about the book of Jeremiah and how leaders turned their back on God. But God being who he is; so loving, so forgiving, so patient, kept giving them chance after chance to turn around. Imagine? Let that unconditional love sink in. As humans, operating in the flesh, we tend to turn our backs on those who do us wrong. It reminds me of when Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive his brother. He asked if seven was justifiable and you know what Jesus said? “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times!!!" To us that's insane but when we operate in the spirit, we can be made in God's image; being as forgiving, as loving, and as patient as He is.
To be made in his image and operate in the spirit, we must first seek God while we still can. Don't wait until it's too late.
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.” -Isaiah 55:6-7 (NIV)
